98 ford tarus. replaced computer with new , from advance auto, came with flash numberF8PF CJB CAR IS NO START. theft light flashes fast. tried turn on key for fifteen minutes, then off then on for same procdure 3 times, theft light goes off, no start. this morning locked car with fob, unlocked with key, no start. what is next step

Hi, my name is ***** ***** the computer is new, it needs to have the key reprogrammed into the computer, the flash they do is just for the fuel mapping, they cannot program the key with out having the key and the computer installed, did you just install the computer without programming the key?

is the ford dealer the only place to get this key programmed

No, we actually use mobile locksmiths to come the vehicle and program them, they are alot cheaper than the dealer and saves a tow bill, out local locksmith charges 70 dollars to do this, the dealer gets over 200 dollars, but until the key is programmed into the computer, it will not start,Tim

you will also need at least two keys to program
