Replaced solenoid and starter on 75 thunderbird. Just get click from solenoid. Tried jumping solenoid did not work. Starter is a single wire how is it grounded???

Hello and thanks for choosing just answer. The starter is grounded through the mounting points. If the starter bolts are loose or if the mounting surface is dirty it can affect the ground. You could run a ground strap from the frame to the starter as well if you like. It may help in this situation.
