hi Don
99 250 sd 7.3l 4r100 tranny lost reverse and trys to pull forward in neutral after overheating in down town cinncinati and spewing a few qts out the converter seal we used lucas seal swell stuff to get her home another 800 miles ran great in forward didn't even leak, but no reverse got home changed the fluid and filter still no reverse soleniod pack bad or did we fry the reverse band?

Hello and thanks for choosing just answer. When you have forward gears in neutral usually some metal got very hot and stuck together. If you still don't have reverse you most likely fried a reserve clutch or band. I would start by removing the transmission pan and inspecting for burnt fluid and clutch material inside the pan.
