f150: how do I take the seal for my VCT solenoid off without

This answer was rated:

how do I take the seal for my VCT solenoid off without taking the vavle cover off my 07 f140 5.4L?

Hello and thanks for your question.

The 2007 and up model year seals are not meant to be removed, even if you get it out there is not clearance to get the bolt. They changed the design from 2007 and up. The 04 - 06 had the removable seal with the larger hole to access the VCT solenoid bolt.

I ripped it a little trying to get it out, am I going to have to buy a new valve cover?

You can still get the seal separately from the dealer.
