I need replacement diagram and instructions for air suspension solenoid. I have 1999 Expedition 4x4. The air suspension driver rear bag intermittently deflates. Can you please provide assistance?
Country: United StatesMake: FordModel: Expedition 4x4Year: 1999Engine: 5.4L V8 Already Tried: System operates normally. However, after time sittign with engine off, the driver airbag deflates at intervals and not with a continuous flow, as if leaking. Leak check showed none. I have not scanned. Compressor is operating within normal cycles and not overly working to compensate for a leak.
Hello and thanks for your question.
I have enclosed instructions below for removal of the air spring solenoid as if it were non functional. To remove the air spring solenoid functional you need a scanner to vent the bag. This procedure allows you to vent the bag by turning the solenoid to the first detent to release the air pressure. You want the body supported before venting the bag so it does not drop and cause injury. The best bet is to jack up the body slightly higher then settled ride height and support in that position.

thanks Kenny, but the print on the file is too small to read, won't expand, and won't print. Is there another way to send me the file or send it in larger scale?
Are you using Adobe reader 10? If not you need to download that or update to 10. It is free HERE. Once you have that open the file and mouse over the bottom of the page a window will pop up which has the zoom and print functions. Otherwise the old style looks and functions like this:
Thanks for the info on Adobe Reader Kenny. Did you see my updated reply? "..., after looking at the diagram, it appears the part I have - TechSmart G35001- appears to be the incorrect part. Can you verify for me what the correct replacement parts could be?"
I only have access to the Ford part number which is F5OZ-5311-CA. Hopefully a parts store can cross this number for an aftermarket part.
Thanks again Kenny. From the ford website, it looks like I may have the front instead of the rear version of the 5311. Can you tell me if there are different part numbers for fron and rear solenoids?
Yes they are different numbers. The one I gave you is rear, the front is 1L1Z-5311-AA.
