Hello and good evening. For such a trim, focus on the tire condition, the cooling system and the air filter. For the tires, you want to make sure they are not dryrotted and that treadwear and pressure are at the proper levels. For the cooling system, make sure all hoses, belts and antifreeze is in good shape. Have it checked or any signs of leakage. Make sure the radiator fins are clear with no debris. For the air filter, make sure you have a clean filter installed, since you will be in dusty enviroment. Besides those items, have a very thorough inspection made of the steering, suspension, and overall condition. With those items inspected, you should have a stress free, successful return trip. Let me know if you need anything further. I'm here for you, if you need me.

Thanks Ivan Could you also estimate a budget for such a pretrip checkup minus any replcement parts or fluids?
Sure, this type of inspection, if everything ends up being in order, should not be more than 1 hour of labor. Overall, it should be no more than $100 or so.
