Hi, I’m Chris. Welcome and thanks for asking your question!

Do you already have the door apart and the new exterior door handle?

Which door has this concern?

Customer replied 275 days and 5 hours ago.

I have the door apart and have the drivers side door handle. But the door handle isn't broken, it's the metal tab that the door handle moves on the linkage when you pull the handle.

Is this the part you are referring to?

I'm sorry but it's hard to tell from that image. When you pull the door handle, it pulls a tab that I believe is associated with the part in your image. When the tab gets pulled it lifts the linkage that goes to the door latch. The tab has broken off so when you pull the door handle, nothing happens with the linkage to open the door.

I believe we are talking about the same part. The diagrams Ford has are not that great and I do not have live images to get you. Look over both files below to see if this is what your needing. You are going to need to remove the latch or the handle to get this rod out of the way to replace the metal tab on it.
