My Ford Econoline 2002 15 passenger - the temperature can't be controlled in the back part of the van. Front works great. The back has either hot air from the floor or semi cool air from the top no mater what we set the temperature to. Any ideas?

Hello and welcome to Just Answer! I will do my best to help you today. You have a split unit the system uses the same compressor for cooling but has 2 separate evaporator cores. It sounds like there are 2 possible causes. What you need to do is check the rear a/c lines to see if they are good and cold at the evaporator core as they should be. If they are not you have a bad expansion valve. If they do get cold then you could have a bad temperature blendor actuator.

We ran the AC on max with rear on High. The a/c lines did not get very cold. But just to make sure we are feeling the right thing, are they the metal pipes on the lower left of the fan? Here is a picture of the whole fan area:
