how do i relieve tension so i can replace cv shaft

removed caliper and all bolts i can see

not sure but it seems as if the bottom arm that holds the strut is under pressure i just cant seem to get it apart to get out drive shaft

Are you refering to the bottom where the strut mounts that I have marked in this diagram?

The #17 is the lower control arm and you do not need to remove the bolt. If you look further up on the steering knuckle which is #14, you will see 2 pinch bolts that have to be remove once you have them out, you pry down of the knuckle and the strut come out of the steering knuckle. See the enclosed Factory instructions for the correct factory steps.
