MasterTech509 :

Welcome to justanswer.

MasterTech509 :

It sounds like you have a bad coolant temperature or connection to it.

Customer :

the temperature is normal??

MasterTech509 :

The temperature will be fine but the ecm doesn't think it is.

Customer :

would that make the engine run real rich in fuel mixture ??

MasterTech509 :

Yes and it will cause it not to start sometimes.

Customer :

the plug,s are covered with soot too ??

MasterTech509 :

Yeah it sounds like the coolant temp sensor i would also check the connector and make sure it is not broken or shorting out.

Customer :

where do i find the coolant temp sensor ??

Customer :

ok ill try that

MasterTech509 :

It is located in the intake manifold near the water outlet to the radiator.

Customer :

ok thank,s

MasterTech509 :

It has 2 wires if there is a bad connection it can cause this problem to. wiggle the connector and see if it changes anything.

Customer :

ok
