I have a '95 Crown Vic. All of the lights go out after about an hour on the road. They will come back on intermittanly. I have changed the lighting control module and the headlight switch. What else should I be looking at?

Hi there

Need some info , it is very common for the LCM to cause this problem , so ware did you get the LCM at , was it brand new , a junk yard , used off e bay , etc . also when you say all of the lights go off , do you mean headlamps and the parking lamps go off at the same time ??? or just the headlamps go off on there own ?
we can go back and forth on this page
Chris
Sorry couldn't get back right away. All the lights, (head, park, tail, dash) lights go out. I got the LCM from a junk yard. I could not find a rebuilt one in any part store. NAPA didn't have one west of the Rockies!(and the are quite expensive), Ford listed one for $500, but also showed "obsolete".

also i your handey you can repaire it on your own , the parts are about $4 check out this from a ford foum I copied and pasted below --
I did my first LCM repair on an 05 Crown Vic for about $20 and that included shipping charges. Mouser.com sells the exact same relays that go bad in your LCM for under $4 a piece. Mouser is fast too. I ordered Friday and had my relays by Monday. The part number for the relay is EQ1-11111S. If you have some soldering skills, just replace all four of those relays and put your LCM back in the car. I don't have a schematic to isolate which relay does what. But considering I salvaged a $500 LCM for less than $20, there's not much reason not to be proactive and replace all four.happy happy
