I have a 99' ford ranger 3.0 4x4 with abs it's making a whistling sound at lower speeds, usually when it seems to be wet out. I've read that it could be the front halfshaft excluder seals but also saw that might only be for later models. I'm just curious if thats most likely the problem and where could I buy those?
Hello and welcome to JA, there are seals located just behind the brake rotor, where the front halfshafts enter nthe front rotor...these arew dust seals, but they cause a whistling noise when they are dry, remove the front halfshafts and lube these seals, the noise will go away.
