Hello, My name isXXXXX will do my best to assist you. EGr can cause high idle, surging, or even if stuck wide open , stalling all the time. they tend to get dirty on the tip, not seat all the way and yes, can? cause rolling idle. Also, you want to be sure you clean the inside of the throttle body, both openings real good with carb cleaner to get any gum/debris off the butterflys. any gum buildup and the computer has hard time controlling idle. the EGR is shown below in the picture
What does the MAP sensor do in concert with the EGR? if anything?
well, the map sensor reads engine vacuum, the computer uses this if o to adjust fuel ratio,. the egr is emissions. the only common things is they are both vacuum controlled. And, both are controlled by the computer, Thye dont work direct to each other but can indirect. hard to explain.
Thanks, XXXXX XXXXX to understand this as the Ford dealership was quite vague and cryptic. I suppose it could have been a junior service writer - again, thanks
