2002 Ford Explorer: My check engine light..accelerated

Had my 2002 Ford Explorer diagnosed, a code of P0745 was found. My check engine light was on and when I accelerated (automatic trans.)my rpm gauge raced to approx. 4000 rpm's, when I finally reached 30mph tranny jerked down toXXXXXrough during travel and when I decelerated same thing again. What does t5he code indicate specifically?

P0745 PCA PCA solenoid inoperative Mechanical failure of the solenoid detected. Possible slip in gear and/or third gear ratio. Will turn on MIL.

This is usually caused by a broken intermediate band. Very common to this transmission. Ford has a bulletin out for it that I have attached below.
