Welcome to! My name is DriveFast71(Ron) and I will do my best to answer all of your questions completely and accurately.

Is this the 6-cylinder or the 8-cylinder?

6 cylinder

From what you are describing here, battery light/loss of power steering, it sounds more like your Serpentine Belt has fallen off or broken. Check to see that the belt is in place, and properly aligned on all the pulleys. If the belt has fallen off, you will need to check the pulleys by hand, and make sure the bearings are ok. Grab ahold of the pulleys and try to shake them in and out. Any movement, and the pulley will need to be replaced. If the belt has broken, it will simply need to be replaced.
