Hello my name is Steve W, there is no egr valve system on the 2006 f150, they use variable cam timing to control emissions.

Steve W :

Any more questions just ask, Thanks Steve W

JACUSTOMER-1nc1ossc- :

i have a misfire situation, seems as though you lightly touch the gas pedal and the truck stumbles

Steve W :

Is the check engine light flashing or illuminated?

JACUSTOMER-1nc1ossc- :

no cel

JACUSTOMER-1nc1ossc- :

stumble as though tranny is jumping

Steve W :

you mean slipping?

JACUSTOMER-1nc1ossc- :

not really , shudder

Steve W :

Does it feel like it is the rear diiferential on turns?

JACUSTOMER-1nc1ossc- :

no put the limited slip dif additive long ago. stumped

Steve W :

Can you duplicate the concern while power braking the engine , not moving?

JACUSTOMER-1nc1ossc- :

in motion, when wanting to throttle up for more speed, it will stumble or shudder if you will . usually when at cruising speed

Steve W :

Ok, this sounds like you have a misfire, possible spark plug or ignition coil.

JACUSTOMER-1nc1ossc- :

no ignition issues spark plugs changed and a couple of suspect coil packs phasers?

Steve W :

Doesn't really sound like a phaser problem, has power balance been monitored while the event is happening? To see it if can be pointed to a specific cylinder?

JACUSTOMER-1nc1ossc- :

no codes are showing up, i m confused.

Steve W :

Do you have a good scan tool?

JACUSTOMER-1nc1ossc- :

i do

Steve W :

Look at mode 6 data for cylinder misfire, look at all 8 cylinders, the ones that should a percentage are the culprits.

Steve W :

show a percentage

JACUSTOMER-1nc1ossc- :

i ll check, do you think it may be out of time?(lash adjusters)

Steve W :

I really don't think so, if there was a problem with timing the check engine light would be on or a code stored.

JACUSTOMER-1nc1ossc- :

true thanks for the input

Steve W :

Thank you
