Ford Focus I am trying to remove the engine oil filler cap

I am trying to remove the engine oil filler cap on a Ford Focus 1.8 (2000 model) without success - help please.

First thing, to remove, turn counter clockwise! :)

OK, if indeed it is really stuck.

I have had this happen to Ford models here in Canada as well.
The ratchet mechanism wears out and just slips. These caps have a tendency to stick on hard occasionally.
To remove them I use a large set of slip joint pliers, squeeze really hard to bind up the inside of the cap and twist off.
A couple of times the whole thing came apart and was left with just the threaded in piece. There is still enough left to get the pliers on it to remove.

In any case, the cap will need to be replaced.
