The key needs to be in the run position and than push in on the tab thru the whole and it should pull out and than the new one goes in and turn it to off than on and the tab should release to lock in place.

These have been my steps, including the key in the run position. I have pushed through hole and can see the lock cylinder move slightly so I know I am making contact, however I am unable to release the cylinder.

How hard do I push? How small/type of screwdriver?

Are you still there Tim?

I use either a ice pick or small punch. You need to press pretty good and continue pressing while pulling out on the cylinder while in run position.

The tumbler will not release following these steps. If I push the ice pick harder or pull the key harder, something will break.

Put key in accessories position not run on this one sorry
Customer: replied 5 years ago.

It helps to have the key in the right position. I got it. Now I have to go buy a new key chain from all the pulling in the run position.
