1997 ford explorer: disable anti-theft system..towing

How to disable anti-theft system on a 1997 ford explorer. It acting up and prevent the car from starting. I just paid $500 with towing for the mechanic to tell me it the anti theft acting up and to take it to a shop for them to disable it...

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
  2. Remove the LH rear quarter trim panel.

3.Disconnect the two Remote Anti-Theft Personality (RAP) module electrical
connectors and the antenna connector.
