Hello and Welcome to Justanswer,

My name is XXXXX XXXXX X am here to try and assist your with your question.

Are they pulling the engine in order to acces the broken bolts in the head?

Customer replied 609 days and 19 hours ago.

the work has not proceeded I stopped them as I do not believe they have to pull the engine to perform the replacement of the bolts

Depending how much room they have to work with they might have to, if they don't then the book calls for 2.1 hours to remove the manifold and you can expect about 2 hours to drill them out. If the engine has to come out then add another 9,8 hours to remove and reinstall it.
