Hello sorry for the delay,

How long have you/her had the car?

How many miles on it?
Customer: replied 5 years ago.
She has had the car 6 years, there is 174000 mile

Thanks,

She might want to have a fresh fuel filter installed first because they can swell after hot and cause the same symptoms.

The next thing would be the idle control valve, and then a fuel pump fault. When they get hot after being driven for quite awhile, plus the outside temp, the pump develops high resistance and slows down the pump and it can't maintain the proper high pressure needed and does this. It probably has the original one it it.

So, replace the filter first, then pull the idle air control valve out of the throttle body and clean real good to remove any carbon deposits that dont allow the valve to close completely and it creates a vacuum leak and runs real rough at idle.

What causes the Fuel Flow light to come on, low pressure the only thing?? Today she said the check engine light came on and then had no acceleration, shortly after the check engine light went out and the acceleration was normal. Thaks for your ideas.

Hi,

Are you referring to the low fuel light.. We might be dealing with multiple issues here. And the engine light and fuel light are different..

If you unplug the vacuum line that does to the intake manifold and see any signs of wetness inside, it needs replaced for sure. They usually work or don't, unlike the fuel pump that can work on and off....kinda of tricky to catch it while its acting up but have the regulator checked first.
