On this vehicle, the Thermostat is built into, and part of the thermostat housing. So you replace the housing as a unit. THe housing will come with a new thermostat and gasket.

  • Remove the 3 bolts and reposition the thermostat housing to gain access to the hose clamps.
  • Remove and discard the gasket
  • Disconnect the heater hose from the thermostat housing.

  • Disconnect the lower radiator hose from the thermostat housing and remove the thermostat housing.

  • To install, reverse the removal procedure.

how do you reach it?from bottom by removing plastic cover

It should be accessible from the engine compartment. Towards the top of the engine, and towards the passenger's side. (red arrow, #5 in image below) (Click "view full image" on the image above/below to get a pop-up window with a close-up view of the location)
