99 f350: fuel leaking from the fuel filter drain hose..powerstroke

This answer was rated:

I have fuel leaking from the fuel filter drain hose on a 99 f350 powerstroke. could it be a bad o-ring???

Dieseljunky2 :

Hello, This is a common problem as the 7.3 engines are getting older. The drain is leaking because the seal is leaking inside it. It is a large o-ring type seal that is made especially for this application. I have been to many o-ring supply stores and amny online stores. Noone has an o-ring that fits. Basically, you will have to get the $75 drain repair kit from Ford. Also the drain can be replaced without removing the filter housing. Thanks
