Eric :

Hi. Usually a loud howling noises comes from one of the front wheel bearings. The wheel does not have to have any play in it for a noisey wheel bearing. To verify you could either just replace the wheel bearing, or swap the left and right side bearings and see if the noise changes. The bearings are bolt on units. Please feel free to ask any further questions. Thanks, Eric

are the bearings hard to replace or take off
