what does emission code p 1443 mean on a 96 ford ranger
Hello, I am Randall. The code can mean one of several things. Either a vacuum hose problem or canister purge solenoid problem or purge flow sensor problem. The canister purge solenoise is located betwwen the canister and intake manifold. the pF sensor is near PS pump. ZI lean more to a canister purge solenoid problem. Here is a picture of each. In order to be sure, as canner needs to be hooked up and some scanner tests done. Just be sure to check all the vacuum hoses under hood and sure none came loose or ruptured

Purge Flow Sensor (PFS)

Fuel Vapor Canister Purge Regulator Valve

  • The Evaporative Canister Purge Solenoid controls the flow of vapors (purging) from the carbon canister to the intake manifold during various engine operating modes. The Evaporative Canister Purge Solenoid is a normally closed valve in the evaporative emission system.
