my '98 f150 hood won't relatch; i suspect there is a spring that broke which pulls the locking mechanism to allow the hood to engage the latch mechanism. the cable attached to the release inside the cab is loose which leads me to believe this secondary spring is broken plus when i crane my neck to look at the latch, i believe I see the remenant of the spring.does this make sense and will i be able to access the mechanism without disassembling the entire grill? it's freezin up here in chicago and i'm hoping to buy a replacement spring at the hardware store...thanks.
