on a 2002 ford windstar 3.8 how much transmission fluid is needed when replacing the filter and pan fluid ?

Hi Customer. Thank you for asking your question on JustAnswer.

It varies depending on how long the pan is off for. I add 4 quarts and start it up and let it idle a good 10 minutes then check it. They usually take 5-6 quarts total. Add fluid a pint at a time after the initial 4 quarts after it warms up ( about 10 minutes).
