What are the torque specifications and sequence required for a 2001 Ford Taurus 3.0L ohv engine cylinder heads and intake manifold? I am doing the head gasket removal and replacement.

  1. Install the intake manifold. Tighten the bolts in the sequence shown in two stages.

    • Stage 1: Tighten to 15 Nm (11 lb-ft).



    • Stage 2: Tighten to 32 Nm (24 lb-ft).

  • Tighten the bolts in five stages in the sequence shown.



  • Stage 1: Tighten to 50 Nm (37 lb-ft).



  • Stage 2: Loosen the bolts one full turn.



  • Stage 3: Tighten to 30 Nm (22 lb-ft).



  • Stage 4: Rotate each bolt 90 degrees.



  • Stage 5: Rotate each bolt an additional 90 degrees.
