2003 Ford f150 4.6L v-8, Service engine light, rough idle, stalls at a stop. Smell of gasoline on the dipstic but the viscosity is still intact, not dripping. Scan codes are 1131, 1137, 1131, 1151. Any thoughts?

Ron :

Hello and Welcome to Justanswer,

My name is XXXXX XXXXX I am here to try and assist your with your question.

In most cases the problem you are describing is caused by a large vacuum leak and in most case on the 4.6 is caused by a leaking vacuum supply line to the PCV valve. Take a look at the line from the PCV valve to the intake where is connects.

JACUSTOMER-h7g95qfr- :

is it on the pass side valve cover?

Ron :

Yes that is correct

JACUSTOMER-h7g95qfr- :

Thanks, XXXXX XXXXX that route and give it a try tonight. Can't get into it right now. Have a nice day.

You nailed it! PCV Elbow was collapsed and sucking air causing the problem. Replaced it with thicker, oil resistant hose as the original part obviously does not hold up. Thanks for the rapid response and for saving me a lot of time and money.
Great job, thank you as well.
