Steve :

check the tan white wire for power at the switch going in and wire brown for power going out of the headlight swich

Customer :

is there a chance that when i put the dash back together that one of the connectors didnt click in place and worked loose? i know i can turn the headlights on and off and use the dimmer for the dome light but are they set up to fault if one of them connectors comes loose?

Steve :

If no power going out switch is bad

Steve :

It is possible did not relize you had the dash apart

Steve :

Customer :

Customer :

12 volts going in to switch on the white wire with a tan stripe and 11.96 going out on the brown wire

Steve :

The regulater grounds the light

Steve :

the regulater is prematuring grounding and causing the light to come on

Steve :

sorry wrong person

Customer :

wrong person?

Customer :

ohh hehe

Steve :

ignore what I just said

Customer :

no problem

Steve :

yes I am ansewring more than one question

Steve :

ok back to your concern the hedlight is ok

Customer :

yeah headlight switch seems to work fine i got 12v in and 12v out

Steve :

need to check the dimmer switch

Steve :

need to check the brown wire at the dimmer switch for 12 volts

Customer :

it has 12volts i checked before i came back in

Steve :

12volts coming out of the grey and yellow wire

Steve :

in the dimmer switch

Customer :

ill check quick

Steve :

ok

Customer :

the wires on the dimmer switch are different colors. I wrote down what i found

Customer :

2 of the wires are grounded

Steve :

is ther a brown wire with power with the headlight on?

Customer :

brown, blue/black, Orange/Green have 12volts

Customer :

then theres a light blue with Red and a black wire grounded

Steve :

the switch is bad should have power on the red wire

Steve :

try unpluging the radio you put in see if it works

Steve :

the red eire goes to the radio

Customer :

i used the volt meter and put it on the Beep tone to check and see if the red wire was grounded and I got a tone. does that mean the switch is fried and grounding that wire?

Steve :

is ther a grey and yellow wire

Customer :

no grey and yellow

Steve :

yes

Steve :

replace the switch

Customer :

ill go try unplugging the radio

Steve :

ok

Customer :

i pulled the radio and found a wire in the Kit Harness i bought that was exposed. would that wire grounding cause the switch to go bad without blowing a fuse?

Steve :

does the lights come on?

Customer :

no still no lights

Steve :

does the lights come on?

Steve :

you need a dimmer swich

Steve :

still there/

Customer :

im here

Customer :

Steve :

Steve :

Steve :

Customer :

Steve :
