John Mc :

Hi, I am John Mc, a Ford dealer tech. I hope I can help you quickly and accurately. One moment while I work on your problem.

JACUSTOMER-7knvb6mw- :

i am Joe

JACUSTOMER-7knvb6mw- :

I have replacesd three o2 sensors

John Mc :

These codes usually come up together when there is a intake vacuum leak. A very very common problem on these is for the rubber hoses for the pcv valve to rot out and cause a vacuum leak.

JACUSTOMER-7knvb6mw- :

where is it located on my vehicle

John Mc :

Follow the pcv valve from the passenger side valve cover and you should be able to trace down the leak.

John Mc :

If you still have follow ups please ask and I will be glad to assist.

JACUSTOMER-7knvb6mw- :

is this near the back top of the engine?

JACUSTOMER-7knvb6mw- :

I also have a check engine light

JACUSTOMER-7knvb6mw- :

how do i do follow ups?

John Mc :

Yes this can all be causing your check engine light. The tube comes from the middle of the passenger side valve cover and goes to the back of the intake.

John Mc :

Just post back to this thread.

JACUSTOMER-7knvb6mw- :

JACUSTOMER-7knvb6mw- :

John Mc :

JACUSTOMER-7knvb6mw- :

i now have codes p0171 p0174

JACUSTOMER-7knvb6mw- :

r u there

John Mc :

171 and 174 are both lean codes, check for that vacuum leak. I bet you find one. If you can't, use some carb cleaner and spray all the vacuum lines while the engine is running. If the engine speed changes when you spray something then that part is sucking air and you have found your problem.
