Hi, Thank you for asking your question on JustAnswer, my name is XXXXX XXXXX I will be assisting you today with your question.

Shawn :

In order to replace the rear main you will have to remove the transmission in order to gain access to the seal, I can send replacement instructions if you need,

Shawn :

Hello?

Customer:

Yes I would need replacement instructions, Thanks

Customer:

So this is not the one where I will need to drop the oil pan? The seal is one piece and not two?

Shawn :

Yes that is correct, the seal is a one piece design

Customer:

One more question, drop the tranny, and its against the engine block right there?

Shawn :

Yes, on the back side of the engine, behind the flywheel

Customer:

ok, thanks. I just dropped the oil pan and replaced the gaskets and it started leaking more. I thought it was the oil pan gasket which it was as far as I could tell. Now that its back together it started leaking really bad. I wasn't sure if it was worth the efford of dropping the tranny. But that seems simple enought. I was finding info about dropping oil pan and back of crankshaft because of two pieces etc. Thanks, XXXXX XXXXX accept now.

Shawn :
