2008 ford: battery went dead..the cd player problem..clueless

the cd player in my 2008 ford edge will not initialize, but the radio works fine. the battery went dead so I replaced it thinking it was'nt keeping a charge causing the cd player problem. the new battery did not fix the problem and now I am clueless?

This is a typical problem of these Units, as the Logic IC goes bad or hangs up (like a computer)
Try:
Remove Unit & Unplug for apprx 5 minutes (not fuse or battery)
Reconnect & wait apprx 30 seconds, prior to turning Key on
Press Eject
Turn Key & Radio On & try..

 

If the above does not work, then the Unit will need to be Repaired or Replaced / Exchanged
apprx 185.00 - 295.00 depending on parts & shop
