2001 FORD EXPEDITION MAKING HUMMING NOISE UNDER HOOD. IT USED

Customer Question

2001 FORD EXPEDITION MAKING HUMMING NOISE UNDER HOOD. IT USED TO BE OFF AND ON. PRESSURE ON GAS PEDAL WOULD MAKE IT GO AWAY. NOW THE NOISE IS CONSTANT AS SOON AS I START THE CAR. I THOUGHT IT WAS THE POWER STEERING PUMP. REPLACED IT BUT NOISE IS STILL THERE

HiCustomer I am John Mc, a Ford dealer technician.
I hope I can help solve your problem quickly and accurately.

It sounds like you have a problem with your idle air control valve. Try this when it is making the noise use a hammer and tap on the valve. It is behind the throttle body on the intake elbow. If the noise stops or changes replace the valve.

I hope this answer has been helpful to you! If you have any further questions please feel free to ask.
