This problem is usually caused by the timing chain or the cam phasers so these will need to be inspected and tested to be sure. This is a major job and special equipment is needed.

Customer replied 1153 days and 20 hours ago.

Cams, cam followersand cam phasers were changed 25000 km ago, not sure about the chains, will they stretch enough to cause this problem? Engine has 176,000 km ??miles

The chain do not usually stretch to cause this problem because there is a chain tensioner but sometimes the tensioner fails or the chain guides fail to cause this problem.
