Hello Linuxrules

I'm Chris, Thanks for allowing me to help you here on Just Answer.

When looking int othe diff do you see a S shaped spring?

Do you see the large pin running through the center of the diff?

What liter engine do you have?

What looks different?

When looking int othe diff do you see a S shaped spring? -- no There is no S shaped spring which is in the haynes manual.

Do you see the large pin running through the center of the diff? -- no

What liter engine do you have? 4.0 with manual tranny

What looks different? -- no shaped spring and no ping as indicated in the haynes manual running through the differential for the c-clip. there is a bolt running parallel with the axle that is similar to what the haynes manual says to remove the pin.

It is supposed to be a torsen rear end.

Ok I now know which diff you have. Use the directions below. When you are pushing the axles in to allow for the circlip removal turn the axle to make sure the back of the lug studs dont hit the brake shoes and not go in far enough.

5.1 says to discard the lock bolt. Does this truly mean that I can't reuse it and should find a replacement?
Most every bolt on vehicles are discard bolts. I myself dont discard 90% of the bolts or nuts, but the service manuals state to. Honest opinion, you dont need to trash the bolt.
