2002 Ford Windstar: idling..first start..it warms up)...any

Customer Question

I have a 2002 Ford Windstar. When you start the van, it jumps and stutters a bit - and with the jumping the engine light flashes on, then off, then on...it eventually goes off, the van runs...but often starts jumping when idling at red lights, etc.
It's more frequent now that we have cold weather, more frequent when we first start a drive (as opposed to when it warms up), and it's gradually gotten worse.
any thoughts?

if the light is flashing, then this is a missfire, you will need to get the computer scanned to see which cylinder it is, this can be caused by a bad plug, wire or injector, but you need to determine which cylinder it is before you can diagnose it,Tim
