John, I just went out and attemped to change the bulbs as you described, but the headlight would not come out. I think I might have missed a bolt since the assembly would "wiggle around" but still would not come out. What am I doing wrong?

did you double check you probabl;y missed a bolt

the assembly seemed loose on the top but it seems like something on the "bottom" of the assembly is holding it in. is there a bolt (or some type of clip) attached to the bottom of the assembly. I removed the bolts that are attached to the fender wall/frame and the one by the grill.

You need to remove the grill

I had already removed the grill. The only thing I didn't do (which just dawned on me is unplug the wiring harness from the light fixture. Could this be what's holding it in? It doesn't seem like it to me, but your the expert.

okay, I tried this again and the same result. the assembly won't come out! back to my question, is there another bolt or clip or something that is stopping the bottom of the assembly from sliding out? I removed the grill, unpluged the headlight, removed the top bolts (2) and although the assembly seems to "wiggle" but it won't slide out.
