99 crown: only blows..blows hot air..the ac is on..compressor

Resolved Question:

my 99 crown vic only blows hot air when the ac is on. the compressor and the refrigerant are ok.

i heard there is some sort of diverter/mixer to control this. is that the case? what is the solution?

If you are sure the system is full of freon and the compressor is running as well as the line going in from the accumulator is cold , then you likely have a bad blend door acuator and this is the most common cause .

The bad news is , to replace it, you have to remove the instrument cluster. I have enclosed instructions for both.
