1997 Lincoln town car. Six CD player is in trunk. Hit CD

Resolved Question:

1997 Lincoln town car. Six CD player is in trunk. Hit CD button and error is ‘CD player not recognized’.   Can not remove the CD cassette from player in trunk. Looked at owner’s manual to see if fuse is good. Fuses looked good, but unsure of which fuse number to check. Is fuse the problem, which fuse? How can I remove the cassette? What is the cost if dealer fix it? Is there a 3rd party solution?

i would check the interior fuse box fuse #8 15amp, it is for the cd changer.

if the fuse is good it most likely will need a new cd changer, the dealership charges $400+ for the changer, i would look for a replacement on ebay or an add on cd changer with an fm modulator that would just plug into the antenna connection.

thanks
