2004 Ford Explorer: blend door actuator motor..dashboard..bolts

Customer Question

Is there an easier way to replace blend door actuator motor in 2004 Ford Explorer rather than taking the whole dashboard off. I can get to two of the bolts on the old one just having trouble with the other two.

HiCustomer

Thank you for asking your question on JustAnswer.

Sadly there really is no easier way , as you can see there just isnt any room to get at the bolts. The dash has to come out.

Do you have diagram to take off. I know I have to take a bolt from inside the firewall out. I have plenty of time to do it, my brother is out to sea so I have his car for 6 months, I just cant see spending $900 for labor for a 50 dollar part.
Thanks for the help will accept and pay after

The good news is the drivers side does not require dash removal. See the attachment.
