just spent 1947.17 for my 2006 ford 500. input shaft was broken in two peices. o ring missing wher it goes into torque converter. it looks like a weld snapped or it just seperated. no internal damages.. only have 49200 miles on it. no noises made or shifting problems. the car just coasted to a stop and would not move.

Customer this is not a common problem. In my experience the CVT is one of the more reliable transmissions Ford has at this time. It sounds to me that your observation is correct, it was most likely a simple component failure.

Do you have any further questions I can assist you with?

Thank you,
