Where is the in-line spout connector for a 1988 Ford Ranger

Where is the in-line spout connector for a 1988 Ford Ranger 2.3L EFI?

It will either be under the battery box or located right at the distributor near the ignition module.

Thanks. I have looked in both places but cannot locate. There is no separate wire near the distributor and nothing under the battery box. There is a separate wire by the ignition coil. Is that it? Trying to do the timing. Thanks again.
does it has a grey rectangel shaped plug in the end with 2 wires to it?
Customer: replied 7 years ago.
Nope. Behind the battery there is a little red plastic box with two yellow wires leading into it from the wiring harness. It is all taped up. Think that could be it?
Is this a V6 or inline 4cyl?
Customer: replied 7 years ago.

4 cyl 2.3 liter.

1988 is hard to find info on.Check at the right rear of the engine compartment behind the fuse box.

I think I found it. It was behind the battery coming off the harness. Two yellow wires leading to a little red box with a black plug in it. On mine, someone had covered the box with electrical tape so that increased the degree of difficulty. Thanks for your help.
You are welcome.
