The EPC solenoid is in the valve body in the transmission pan.

is it just a matter of taking the pan off and getting to the solenoid ?

Yes.it is fairly easy,all you have to do is remove the pan and remove it.here is the shop manual step.#3 is the EPC solenoid.

  1. Disconnect the appropriate solenoid electrical connector.
    1. Disconnect shift solenoids electrical connectors.
    1. Disconnect the torque converter clutch (TCC) solenoid electrical connector.
    1. Disconnect the electronic pressure control (EPC) solenoid electrical connector.

On the diagram , there are two number 1's I assume these are the shift solenoid electrical connectors

number 2 is the Tcc electrical connector

and 3 is the Epc
