reset securilock passive anti-theft system 99 ford ranger
I take it what is happening is the theft light is flashing and the truck will not start?
If that is the case, the fix is not resetting the PATS (Passive AntiTheft System), it is something that cannot be 'reset'. However it is something that we do have problems with from time to time. If you have a key that originally worked then the problem is most likely the PATS transponder. This is the sensing ring that is mounted around the ignition lock cylinder on the steering column. What normally happens is the wires going from the Transponder to the vehicle harness, cracks because of the tilting steering wheel.
This break normally happens at the bottom of the wire lead from the transponder.
The fix is replacing the transponder.
The keys will not have to be reprogrammed with this repair.

theres no way to bypass it
No, sorry. The system is built into the computers on the vehicle. You cannot even replace the computer with something older that doesn't have PATS as the vehicle will still not run.
The transponder is not very expensive to replace, the part is under $100 and the actual repair is pretty easy if you wish to attempt it at home.
