Thank you for asking your question on JustAnswer.

The automatic trans can be done in a day easily as the labor calls for 5 hours. There are no special tricks other than be sure to drop the pan and drain the case. There are no special tools required beside a proper transmission Jack. The trans comes out from under neath and the engine dosnt need t be removed.

what is a proper transmition jack? is there a crossmember i have to remove?

How do I sync up the new tranny with the engine. Is there a special lubrication processes?

Expert:  Ron replied 7 years ago.
Yes the drive shaft and the cross member have to come out. The trans lines up with the engine by aligning the dows pins on each side of the block. Once you have trans bolted in , you turn the fly wheel and line up the 4 bolts to the torque converter. A proper trans mission jack is the type for holding and lowering the trans safely.
