HiCustomer

Thank you for asking your question on JustAnswer

The code is set not by an electrical fault, but when the PCM detects a mechanical or hydraulic failure of the system.

The shift solenoid can be tested by accessing the Green/Yellow (GN/YE) wire at pin 73 of the PCM. Disconnect the PCM and toggle a momentary power supply to the wire. This should energize the shift solenoid and make it click.

If the solenoid does not click when powered up, it has most likely set the code from a mechanical failure.

If the solenoid does click when energized, the problem is either intermittent or there is a hydraulic failure inside the transmission which would require in-depth diagnosis and repair.
