Here's the procedure to replace the water pump on your truck.

 

Water Pump - 2.3L

Removal and Installation

  1. Disconnect the battery.
  2. Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe.
  3. Drain the cooling system.
  4. Loosen but do not remove the water pump pulley bolts.
  5. Remove the drive belt.

Remove the bolts and the water pump pulley.

  • Remove the bolts and the water pump.

    Lubricate the water pump O-ring, with MERPOL(R). To install, reverse the removal procedure.
