NOTE: Ignition timing is not adjustable on distributorless ignition systems.

1. Ensure engine is at operating temperature. Turn all accessories off. Put shift selector in Park or Neutral position. Set parking brake. Vehicle front wheels must be in straight-ahead position. Connect timing light to engine. Locate and disconnect single in-line Spark Output (SPOUT) connector, located near ignition control module (on distributor).

2. With engine at idle RPM, check ignition timing. Turn engine off. Reconnect in-line SPOUT connector. Check computed ignition timing. Computed ignition timing should be advanced beyond base timing.
