1992 ford explorer: adjust..the base timing..4.0 liter..liter engine

Resolved Question:

how do i adjust the base timing on a 1992 ford explorer with 4.0 liter engine. the specification is 10b.,but after checking it, it is aprox 18b. it does advance properly. it does have a pre-ignition problem at full throttle

Ignition Timing Specifications 10 deg BTDC
Note: Not Adjustable. Measured with in-line spout connector shorting bar disconnected.

There are no adjustments in the EDIS ignition system. The timing is set at 10 degrees at the factory and is not adjustable.
